ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Our corporate philosophy is to conserve of the global environment through the promotion of environmental management and related corporate activities.

  1. We are always concerned about the potential impact that our business activities and products may have on the environment, and therefore seek to minimize this as much as possible.
  2. We promote activities aimed at reducing any such environmental impact and also at preventing pollution in an economical and effective way.
  3. We comply with RoHS compliance, environmental laws, regulations, and agreements, as well as with the commitments made by Torex itself to control chemical substances contained in our products.

Plastic resin materials used in Torex product packages meet the requirements of UL94V-0 flame classification unless otherwise stated on the product datasheets.
Halogen & Antimony freed

■ Background

Torex Semiconductor Ltd. has completed its lead-free transition to meet the requirements of the European RoHS directive.
Currently Torex is undertaking a transition to halogen-free and antimony-free products that contain no bromine (Br) or antimony (Sb) (H&A-free products).

■ Definition of Torex

Halogen free : According to IEC 61249-2-21 definition
Bromine(Br) content≦900ppm
Chlorine(Cl) content≦900ppm
Total Halogens ≦1500ppm

Antimony Free
Antimony(Sb) content≦900ppm

■ Can Torex already support Halogen & Antimony free?

■ Description of change

With the exception of certain products, we previously used bromine (Br) and antimony (Sb) as flame retardants in resin.
We have changed the flame retardants used in these target products to an H&A-free material that is not Br or Sb. The flame resistance grade of the resin is UL94V-0, as it was previously.
In addition, the electrical characteristics, mounting conditions, and other characteristics of the products are all equivalent to the previous products.
Reliability is also the same, and we have conducted reliability tests on typical products of each series to verify that there are no problems.

Torex products are 100% compliant with RoHS directive (2002/95/EC and 2011/65/EU).
